Retreating Worth Repeating

It's time to start thinking 'Retreat'! The best Retreats are well thought out and organized and there a few things that make them extra fun. I tend to NOT be overly organized but I sure appreciate those who are, because they usually have the coolest stuff that makes me want to do better next time.

An often overlooked item (that is so necessary) is tissue. We're always sneezing and blowing our noses at retreats. Must be allergies and the unique air we are breathing in the different environments. Also all the fiber dust. So how about making this adorable Tissue Tote #CLPJHN001 by Judy Hanson.

The pockets on each side are genius! Everything is right there at your fingertips and the little things don't get lost. I would love to be the one to show up with this excellent idea.

Another very organized idea is to have a smaller cutting mat sitting next to you on your sewing table. This alleviates having to get up 50 times to trim blocks as you are sewing. It also frees up the cutting stations for those who are cutting bigger pieces. Make sure to bring that along as well as your rulers in this Mat Board Tote Bag CLPCFR002 by Chris Foreman. This tote holds a 18" X 24" mat and a ruler up to 24 1/2" long. The  pockets included in the pattern are a great spot for holding patterns.

And we can't forget the wine. No retreat is 'retreaty' without a special treat to retreat with. Say THAT 5 times. So bring that special treat in it's own special bag. The Fashion Wine Tote #CLPBGR003 by Betty Gormick.

After a long day of sewing and laughter, you can enjoy your wine. There's nothing better than good friends enjoying life together.

If you've never gone on retreat, you've gotta try it. You'll find that one just isn't enough.
