Easy Applique for Beginners

applique quilt Beginner patterns Class Series Table Runner Teacher Resources

If you've been wanting to teach (or learn) machine applique', Cut Loose Press™ has some simple, quick to master patterns. The best one for practice is called Blossoms (CLPCMC001) by Cindi McCracken.

This pattern uses Creative Grids® Circle Savvy Ruler (CGRSAV1) to cut the blossoms that are fused to the background and then appliqued. It creates the perfect opportunity to practice both curves and straight lines. You can use a simple blanket stitch, or get creative with some of the fancy stitches on your machine. After you have built your confidence, move on to the Stars and Stripes Table Runner (CLPBGR010) by Betty Gormick.

Just in time for the July holiday, you'll have an adorable festive table runner with appliqued stars. Inverted points are a bit more challenging than the outside corners of the last runner. Challenge yourself. This runner is so fun to make!
